Has there ever been a more anticipated press conference? When the embattled Tiger Woods finally stepped to the podium at TPC Sawgrass this past Friday morning, it had been nearly three months since he was last seen in public. Consider how your opinion of this one-of-a-kind sports icon had changed since the last time you saw him. From the penthouse to the outhouse is as apt a description as any.
That said, I thought Tiger did an excellent job in front of this handpicked group of media allies and close associates. He showed some emotion, some regret, some humility. He said he was sorry on a number of occasions, and appeared to really mean it. He seemed genuinely pained when he recounted how much his multiple affairs have cost him with his wife and family. At times his voice wavered a bit, but the cynics will note that the times he truly seemed the most disturbed was when he was blaming the media for putting his wife, mother and children through undeserved scrutiny. It seems that no matter what the circumstances, Tiger reserves his deepest emotions for defending his own turf, only in displaying his own self-righteousness does he truly come alive. Well, my opinion, anyway.
As avid golf fans, we regret the fact that his absence from the PGA Tour will continue into the indefinite future, as he continues to wrestle with these inner demons. But in the scheme of things, it’s more important for Woods to get his life on track before he attempts to get his game back on track. If the comeback to the game that made him rich and famous beyond all measure is to proceed, lets consider today to be the opening hole of the round. Most observers will say he made a solid par, even a birdie. But lets watch what transpires in the coming weeks and months, and see if Tiger can keep the ball in play, and build on this solid beginning. I don’t think anyone with a heart wants to see him drive one out-of-bounds, or otherwise blow up after this promising start.

Thoroughly orchestrated. Had to do it as a necessary step in a addiction program. Wish he would just go away.

I think he is pathetic. I hope his wife and children are well taken care of financially and able to move on. I’m sure he will continue to play golf, and he is one of the best golfers ever, however, his actions are unacceptable.

Has got to be the biggest & most embarassing moment of 2010!
February 20th, 2010 at 12:41 pmHe has had his cake and eaten it too.
I cannot feel too sorry for the guy. (I nearly said MAN there!)
There is NO excuse and making a public apology is pointless.
He enjoyed every minute of it but now wants to put it all brhind him.
You cannot put youself across as a role model, whiter than white and live this other life. It is the publics business when we get to know about it. You cannot have it ALL your own way. What example is this to the younger generation and what does it say to them?
A number english footballers and celebrities have been exposed as being up to the same thing. you are either married or your not…However, not all women would respond the same way to this situation, i agree.
As for the sponsors, they are made of the same stuff. As long as he is going to make them a lot of money, they are prepared to turn a blind eye and sweep it all under the carpet. MONEY IS THE GOD AFTERALL!!!
***BUT THANKFULLY, WE DON’T ALL THINK OR BEHAVE THE SAME WAY***
Dominic Sacca Says:
I’ve heard and watched a growing number of public apologies and I thought Tiger’s was very heartfelt and very sincere. I believe as he does that his private life and the relationship he will hopefully continue to have with his wife and family will be his and their’s alone that is without public scutiny and constant discussion and criticism. Let’s let that family have the time to heal and rebuild their relationship and leave them alone.
February 20th, 2010 at 12:45 pmRandy Says:
I just read the other comments. Pathetic pretty much sums it up. He’s a phoney now, has always been a phoney and probably always will be. Sorry my smooth white behind. He’s only sorry he got caught!
February 20th, 2010 at 12:49 pmJAMES Says:
I think he is a golfer and that is all people should care about people say things like he portrayed himself as something he wasn’t as far as I know he portrayed himself as a golfer not a faithful husband people who think they know someone because they see them on T.V. are fooling themselves he is not your buddy he is a golfer who makes millions for being one of the best at golf not for being faithful to his family that should be between him and his family not the whole world
February 20th, 2010 at 12:50 pmLarry Says:
No matter what he does, public apology or not, he will have a lot of rebuilding to do but I think what is most important here is that IF he is serious and wants his wife and family to be together again, we as the public and the press should give their relationship that chance/opportunity to do so without further criticism. It’s their lives, not ours. He’s not the first athlete or politician or whatever to let their position allow them to think they can get away with anything.
February 20th, 2010 at 12:52 pmNone of us would want others determining what our future holds and that’s when I hear people say (who have no real connection with him or his family) that his apology won’t make up for what he’s done – they should remember that what he did really didn’t affect other people. It is his personal family that he afflected and not the general public.
Jim Says:
Once again this is none of our business. Are we that small that we need to feed on problems others have created for themselves? We should be working on our minds, spirit and health in relationship to life and carry that over into our love for golf.
February 20th, 2010 at 12:57 pmjohn schleicher Says:
I think it was a bunch of crap, phony as a three dollar bill, just like he is. If he cheats on his wife he cheats at everything. They found his doctor with drugs, but Tiger near takes them( yeah right)

I find it hard to judge what I don’t know. I am influenced by appearances — just like everyone else. He has done allot of good — not only for himself but others as well. OK — he wasn’t strong enough to walk away from temptation and I’m disappointed but I never heard him bash others [ when he had the chance ]. Let’s wait and see — he just might channel all this to something worthwhile for others as he’s done in hte past.

I have never understood why people put athletes on a pedestal. They are just humans, just like the rest of us. They just have a talent most of us wish we had.
February 20th, 2010 at 1:09 pmWhat Tiger did was obviously wrong, but he didn’t have to apologize to the public. He has to answer only his wife, his children and to those closest to him, and that’s pretty much what he did yesterday. I would bet 99 percent of men out there — maybe more — would have a difficult time NOT giving in to the temptations he faced if they had his fame and fortune. That’s not an excuse, that’s fact. How many men have fantacized over women? They fantacize because that’s what it is to them — a fantasy, but one they would fulfill if they could.
Those people who don’t like him will continue to dislike him.
I have always been a Tiger golf fan and nothing more. I will watch any tournament he plays in as long as he’s in contention. I hope he gets his life in order because that will clear his mind to play his best golf, and that’s really all I care about when it comes to Tiger Woods.
Robert Says:
I totally enjoyed the orchastrated statement. It was good to see the PGA hierarchy, Tiger’s sponsors, Tiger’s Foundations, Tiger’s Management team and all the major networks try and salvage the 2010 season. The only thing missing was Johnny Miller saying something stupid like, ” Only Tiger can read a statement like
February 20th, 2010 at 1:18 pmthat” ! We’ll they’ve made their bed and it looks a lot like Tigers, now ……..
My only hope is that some of the top golfers, finally step up to their potential. And, just maybe the all knowing media will finally recognize those talents for what they are and promote them just half as much as they promoted Tiger ………..

all men are born horney but there comes a time in life to settle with just one true love and this is ok for most men. if and when you become rich and famous there will be a lot of temptations and opportunities to do all kinds of things. tiger got caught -big deal- let him get on with his life-it is really between him and his wife.
February 20th, 2010 at 1:23 pmSteve Says:
A total orchastrated sham. A lot of people doing damage control to save money invested. There is not much more he could do. He has had the light shone on him and we now see him for what he is. It’s going to take more than step one of a twelve step program to convince me that the Tiger’s stripes have changed. He fooled us all and now he’s trying to do it again.
February 20th, 2010 at 1:34 pmNow that being said, he owes the apology to his wife and kids. The rest have us are just the paying public. For him we are a means to an end, money and fame.
murred Says:
He said he never used drugs but if he had all the damages they claimed at the US OPEN and pain he was on pain killers which do enhance your ability to play. I think Rocco got screwed. But the all-mighty sports gods never said anything about that possibility, so i still believe he is a fake and cheat.
February 20th, 2010 at 1:42 pmPaul Kelly Says:
Did anybody really expect anything else from Tiger at e press conference.
February 20th, 2010 at 1:47 pmMy question would be what were his Team of Managers and Consultants doing when all the fooling around was going on or were they just too scared to say anything in case they loose their fat cheques. Shame on them for not speaking up especially when he always looked so Perfect with no problems or issues.
I also turned off my TV coverage of the Match Play on Thursday as the Golf Channel assumed they needed to saturate our brains with the news Conference for Friday and upstaging the Match Play Championships. It is one thing to be reporting the news. It is another thing to be creating the news so as to report on it.
HAve a Great Golf Season. Paul Kelly
Delmar Says:
What do you people want, blood. I think he did what he had to do and it is his to get done with the rest of his life. I think if you didn’t like him to start with, you won’t like him now. But if the shoe were on your foot and you put yourself in his shoes, would you have the nerve to get it done????? I would guess all you that the ones who don’t like him wouldn’t even have the nerve to stand up and take it like a man. Let’s let him get on with his life and try to heal up the wound he caused to his family. They are the ones he needs to apoligize to and not all of us.
February 20th, 2010 at 1:53 pmI just wish him luck and leave him alone.

February 20th, 2010 at 1:58 pmFred Says:
Typical acting job, well put together by a scumbag agent. As it was it will always be about Tiger Woods and no one else but him. His father before him was the same way. He taught him well. The acorn never falls far from the tree.
He’ll return as the same egotistical maniac and snide SOB that he always was before. The only one he truly admires and respects is the scam in the mirror.
February 20th, 2010 at 1:59 pmAnthony Says:
I think the whole lot of you are judgemental, hypocritical and self-righteous. That is, those of you who want to castrate and toss the man off the 100th floor. I would ask each of you this question, “if you that are without sin, cast the first stone.” That being said, the conclusion must be none of us are without sin, faults or mistakes. Let’s work on our own lives and marriages and let he and Elin work on theirs.
February 20th, 2010 at 1:59 pmAlex Says:
Every one seems to forget that Tiger was good at only one thing — hitting a golf ball. Everything else we might have glorifyied, we created. What might you do if you made $110 million a year – $9 million a month – $250,000 a day?? That is $10,000 an hour while you sleep! And on top of that you were treated as a god? You might think you were entitled to do whatever aroused your interest? It makes no difference what he might have said, we were not going to be happy with it because we made him something he wasn’t. I would wager he is not the only golf pro in this situation, albeit not as deep a hole.
February 20th, 2010 at 2:03 pmjohn Brooks Says:
Tell me why is it no problem for Letterman ,John Edwards, south carolina Gov. Sanders and a slew of other personalities to apologize and continue on? But the skin color is different “I forgot”

Glass houses…glass houses.
February 20th, 2010 at 2:17 pmOnly each of us know who we really are and normally, unless we are convicted of a crime, fly under the radar.
Whether it is sex, booze, drugs, cigarettes, speeding, gossipping or whatever,if the media followed each of us around everywhere we went, someone would catch us doing something that was against the law or that someone didn’t agree with at some level.
Heroes only exist in your own mind, as anyone on a pedestal these days displays no super powers that I can see.
Tiger cannot fly or see through walls but as any of us,he is human.
Common decency and respect keeps us from doing the things that Tiger has done
but he can probably still golf.
Some of the fallen heroes of our world have done far worse things to people far less able to defend themselves, but we still consider them to be heroes.
Get a life…love your wife and family and play golf…..it is a wonderful sport whether you can stroke like Tiger or not.
Alex K. Says:
To err is to be human. We live with the consequences of what we do-good or bad-rich or poor. We are all in same boat when it comes to this. I believe Tiger is sorry & this is for him & his family to sort out. Judge not lest ye be judged. Unfortunately for Tiger he is a larger than life celebrity & will always be under the media, paparazzi microscope.
It’s unrealistic for him to think the media is going to leave his family alone.
The media after all is famous for putting one on a pedestal & knocking one off just as quickly. They love going off on their holier than thou tangents with their cameras, microphones, keyboards etc. That being said the public does thrive on it in a voyeuristic type obsession too.
February 20th, 2010 at 2:28 pmLet Tiger deal with his demons like we all must and get back to what he does best-golf.
The game does miss him.
Orlando Says:
Public apology? His immediate family deserves all the apologies he can muster. True, the Golf Tour has suffered without his presence, but he is not INDISPENSABLE! let us see what happens in the future!
February 20th, 2010 at 2:39 pmjim Says:
He should have written it and sent it to the media. The apology and other statements were prepared, planned and presented. If he stays in therapy, he will not return to golf this year. Who cares? He has had more than his 15 minutes of fame, now I turn my attention to David Duval’s comeback, Sean O’Hair’s future, and watch the new old guys on the Champions tour!
February 20th, 2010 at 2:59 pmJames Stock Says:
The hypocrisy of the media that ferreted out Tigers problem with his wife went beyond anything that would have occurred if he was not number one in the golf world.
February 20th, 2010 at 3:07 pmWhat he did is common in the very rich circle in which he lived, and way beyond that. And the Media were well aware of that. I think their comments were sharpened by envy, which itself is not commendable. Like many another in his circumstances he was constantly importuned by gold diggers and just plain horny females, who wanted to know that they could manipulate a man with money and fame.
So to all those who want to the publicity gained by riding on his natural mistake I say – Get over your lower instincts, let him be, and quit the criticism. Find something healthy and useful to do with your time !
Max Says:
As an apology it was a Par. Basic text, standard protocol. We have seen and heard so many before and will continue to do so in the future as the celebrity trap notches up its hapless victims.
February 20th, 2010 at 3:31 pmPast kings, presidents, actors, singers, businessmen, politicians, sportsmen and countless others have succumbed to the frailties inherent in human nature because success and prestige have always been such huge aphrodisiacs – even in the animal world. Why do you think so many people instinctively court it?
It is happening all the time but celebrities are more noticeable and not many celebrities are more noticeable than Tiger.
In his “Meditations” the Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius told us “People will play the same pranks over and over again, though you should burst”. Always has been -always will be. We should not be shocked or surprised just bet on it!
Ricky Boy Says:
Poor James , Jim, and Fred and all those who said Tiger owes us nothing and that all men would do the same. They just don’t get it. Maybe they are to young to understand life. Tiger makes millions of our dollars, we pay him,and yes he does have an oblication to all of his fans for being a good , responsabile, and roll model to us and our children. If you don’t think so and teach your children that it is ok to be like tiger they will grow up to be just like him. If he is really sincere why don’t he just give back all his money and start all over again. Thanks ” A Real Man “
February 20th, 2010 at 3:41 pmJoel Says:
I am reading these commits by people and they sound like Tiger cheated on them. Its none of our business number one, and yes Tiger is a business and has other people that depend on him like his foundation. His speech needed to be prepared, he’s one of the most most prolific sports icon of our time, what do you want him to do with his speech wing it? He needs to be prepared and orchestrated because of the stage he lives on, it needed to be punctual and to the point. He wasn’t going to cry and blame his addiction because, it’s not apart of his character.
February 20th, 2010 at 3:51 pmCut the guy some slack, he is only human!
Bill L. Says:
He is the best golfer in the world and owes no one except his family an apology. What we learned is that he is not only a big jerk on the course, but a bigger jerk off it.
February 20th, 2010 at 3:54 pmTully Says:
People who coment on moral issues make me sick. Long ago a man said, He of you that are without sin cast the first stone. I doubt that therre is one of us that hasn’t lusted in are minds. So much for those you think they are God. I don’t agree with what he did, but it is none of my bussiness. It’s his familys.
February 20th, 2010 at 4:00 pmTom Eckman Says:
I think he came out an apologized which is much better than other professionals that never accept responsibility for their actions. What more can we ask. How would we have reacted in his situation. Let’s give him time to work things out and quit being so selfrighteous. The press should apologize for their thirst for news and gossip and their greed and constant harassment.
February 20th, 2010 at 4:05 pmMike Cawker Says:
I think the person that wrote the script for the Tiger Woods press covered all the bases.Well done.Tiger woods personal endeavors are none of my business or the publics. My only concern is his absence from the PGA tour. The PGA tour is now in damage control mode.I am seeing players I didn’t even know exist playing events. This will probably all change once Tiger comes back .We will see Tiger scratching his ass while he is greenside instead of one of the leaders making a shot that is important.I saw Mike Weir last weekend at the tournament. It has been so hard to see him while Tiger was playing I thought he had retired.By the way I am Canadian.
February 20th, 2010 at 4:39 pmJan Gale Says:
Fine for Tiger’s aplogizes, it just doesn’t cut it. If he hadn’t been caught, he would still be doing it. I hope he gets the greatest boo when he steps on a golf course, hopefully, — Jan Gale –Canada
February 20th, 2010 at 5:11 pmGunter Says:
What a well written speach! I wonder how many writers helped with this one. His acting was very good.
February 20th, 2010 at 5:16 pmLets not forget that Tiger has never said anything in any interview. Questions, he did not like, he always ignored.
On the golf course he behaved like a hooligan, swearing and smashing his clubs.
Vindictive as all get out. Remember the Fuzzy story, he made sure that a joke from a prankster turned into a mayor issue.
With his attitude and behavior he has never been a role model.
He is good for the PGA and that is all.
Jim Says:
Just another thug in the so-called clammer of sports. This is his personality and I don’t think he is going to change. He will try to be more careful next time but if he went that long without getting caught in the past, he can and will strike again.
February 20th, 2010 at 5:20 pmRoger Says:
I believe his comments were heartfelt. Imagine yourself having to get in front of your closest friends and family and confess your deepest demons. Not so easy, huh?
Anyway, I believe he made the right decision not to take questions, because as he said, this is really between him and his wife and for his children. And the press for the most par,t a pack of jackals who just want to ferret out salacious details.
He’s trying to move on and we should let him. We don’t have to agree with what he did or even like him for what he did. He is after all just a golfer, albeit perhaps the greatest golfer ever… nonetheless a golfer. We don’t have to look up to him, respect him, or even pay any attention to him. That’s our choice. But we do owe it to him to let him be what he is… a professional golfer.
Remember the old saw about people who live in glass houses… So forgive and forget.
February 20th, 2010 at 5:21 pmDan Says:
Maybe, just maybe, this guy Woods will grow up to be a regular human being. He continues to present himself like he’s the king and above us peasants. That regal attitude makes me want to see him fail.
February 20th, 2010 at 5:37 pmRon Says:
Tiger……..LIAR,LIAR,LIAR……….You are sorry you got caught, nothing more!
February 20th, 2010 at 5:58 pmRod Says:
Sorry Larry, he DID affect others. When his indescretions wiped $millions$ off his sponsors share prices, innocent people WERE affected…..retirees, supannuantion funds, etc. Don’t embarass yourself anymore Tiger….play golf, or slide into oblivion. Your star is tarnished forever.
February 20th, 2010 at 7:09 pmDennis Says:
To all you knockers, you won’t see another golfer like him for a long, long, time. Let him sort his problems out & get back to playing golf again so we can can watch & admire possibly the best golfer there ever was. The “tall poppy” syndrome has really come to the fore here.
February 20th, 2010 at 7:35 pmcpt seaweed Says:
when Tiger comes back he will get tomatoes and phone numbers thrown at him
February 20th, 2010 at 7:40 pmKen Says:
If you watched the Golf Channel prior to Tiger’s speech, you may have heard just some evidence of how his absence from the game has hurt it. The usual count of media went from about 575 last year at this tournament, to a mere approximate 250, certainly less than half. So for those of you who want to run him down, what you are doing is running down the game of golf. Clearly your opinions are in the minority, which is probably a hint as to your motive for running Tiger down for things that are none of your business. Tiger is famous for his golf ability, not his ability to be a good husband or father. You wouldn’t have ever heard of him for these things. So those of you who are either jealous and who have this minority opinion, why don’t you just either admit you are jealous or just get it over and use your “N” word.
February 20th, 2010 at 7:43 pmRod Says:
Whats for dinner?
February 20th, 2010 at 8:03 pmTom Says:
To be honest, I am appalled at the people who are making these judgments about Tiger. As a couple of the remarks above have indicated, Woods is not our Senator, governor, or president. There seems to be a huge margin of hypocrisy in most of these remarks. This is between Tiger and his wife and is none of our business. That is about it. I don’t think he owed the public an apology at all. he answeres to his wife , his family and his friends, not to the rest of America.
February 20th, 2010 at 8:19 pmBud West Says:
There but for the grace of God go . . . you and I.
February 20th, 2010 at 8:44 pmjeanette adams Says:
Everyone has their own opinion of Tiger Woods, well I just read all the comments, people have left. Listen, I just read for myself, all these comments were from men. If you ask me these guys are jealouse of everything Tiger stands for. YEAH guys tell me you wouldn’t do things like this if you had the chance. I don’t agree with what took place with Tiger, but think about it, if the accident didn’t occur no one would be the wiser. I feel this is between Tiger an his wife. He is a human being same as the rest of you, so try to turn the other cheek, your not suppose to knock somebody when there already down, help them get back up, that takes a big person to stand up in front of those people, in his speech, people were already ready to make there nasty comments. You should clean your own backyard , before throwing stones. Tiger was a good person, an still is, so please leave him alone, an let him recover. That’s right I’m a Tiger Fan. JAN
February 20th, 2010 at 8:46 pmBILL Feb 20th, @ 7:50PM Says:
What is wrong with you people. Calling him pathetic, and that he should just play golf, shows just how ignorant you are. A golfer is what he is, NOT who he is. Give the man a break. Let him get his life back together again. Forgive and forget!
February 20th, 2010 at 8:51 pmChristopher Says:
I think that self rightious people and very biased media covering has been very unfair to Tiger Woods. Playing around seems to be the by-word of most famous people nowadays. And yet one man “whom the people and media put on a pesdestal” is being hounded for being “normal”
May be Tiger should have told his critics “so what?” and “to go and play with themselves”. The only problem I see in Tiger’s reaction is that he still want to keep the “nice” image that others has given him. Maybe if his mother is not around and his pathetic undecided wife can decide which way she wants to go, the man can then find his own way and peace of mind.
It takes 2 to Tango and so far his pathetic critics seems to be on the side of and even rewarding those who kiss and tell.
Tiger, just “PUT IT IN THE HOLE” and to hell with those who choose to defer.
February 20th, 2010 at 10:32 pmET Says:
Chris Rock put it the best way I’ve heard,”No man is monogamous,it all depends on his options” Tiger had a billion options.
February 20th, 2010 at 10:40 pmIt’s very fashionable to have deep dislike for rich people, but this guy earned every penny the hard way he worked his ass off for it,not even the president of this great country made such an apology, heart felt or not, I am not Tiger and I am not in his inner circle,so I will take that apology and hope he gets back playing.I wonder of the hate has to do with having such a beautifull blond for a wife!
Jim Says:
If it came from the heart he would not have read and look at every sentence. Shame on him, I wonder who wrote his speach.
February 21st, 2010 at 12:13 amSteve H Says:
His apology looked somewhat “plastic” – don’t know what to make of that. Is he really sorry or not? Only God knows for sure. Maybe he is so traumatically affected by this all that he is operating somewhat “in a fog”, just trying to get his bearings.
February 21st, 2010 at 12:25 amTiger is a fabulous athlete, probably the most famous in the world. I would imagine that the temptations that he faces would make most men fall just as hard. That said, Tiger needs the true forgiveness that only God can give. He needs Jesus to change him from the inside out.

Just to remind all those comments pertaining to Jesus and casting stones, etc. Tiger follows the Buddhist faith!! Well orchestrated meeting but didn’t he owe those women he stayed with and made all those promises to also deserve an apology from him? It was a sham!!

Bruce Says: If Tiger Woods was a very talented, married Rock Star,Actor ,or any other high profile , fianacially successful celebrity who banged a few of the endless groupies who beg to be bopped, there would be no story. There would be no public mea culpa.
He has publicly apologized to his family, friends and fans and that is the end of the story. Not one of the many critics who showed thier envy and animosity against Tiger would act any better if they had half the the talent and temptation Tiger had to handle. Let the man work out his problems with his personal life and you guys try to find one for your self. Losers!

re: Tiger Woods
Let’s get one thing straight:- Tiger Woods could not care less about what [in his estimation] we sub humans think of him good or bad.
He is a form of God in his view and the rest of us well, we can go and get s*****d.
What with his spitting on course, his foul language, what else could one think.
What a pity he has been anointed by the golfing Gods to be the best.

Wow! This was one of the most contrived, orchestrated pseudo press conferences I have ever seen. Better said, it was another attempt at Tiger propaganda. Controlled and limited is his MO.
We all deserve forgiveness, but his attempts at asking forgiveness were overshadowed his method and by his arrogance and eliteism. Tiger is very intelligent, has been in front of a camera and spoken publically literally thousands of times and he resorts to reading a script??? If this were truly heartfelt, bullet points and a message from his heart would have been the appropriate method. The only thing lacking was the Obama teleprompter! His primary regret is that he was caught. Whether Elin takes him back is between the two of them. Her absence, in the circle of close friends was blatantly obvious. Elin is the victim here not Tiger.
Tiger is one of the most dominant players the game has ever seen. To the point of the exposure of his second life he has helped tens of thousands of children and been a symbol of the game. The timing of his CHOICE to hold his return to public was a slap in the face of Accenture (who has put tens of millions into his pockets)and his fellow players on the tour. He could have easily held this on Monday or Tuesday or better yet, following the event. He needs to clean up his act and his demeanor on the golf course.
We will no longer buy Nike products in our family. Tiger’s actions will determine my and future public opinion.
I have been with Tiger one on one a few times in the past. I could not help but notice a little slur in his speech. Still believe through very reputable sources that he had a fractured jaw reconstructed in Phoenix.

we americans are such pathetic hypocrits. Is there a man alive who would not want to live the life of Tiger Woods? Imagine, playing a game we all love at a level never played before by any human being, earning a billion dollars doing that, and then having the most incredible selection of women to “relax” with after a tough game of golf? if there’s a heaven, can it truly be any better than that?
February 21st, 2010 at 8:17 amChristopher Says:
Does Tiger need to apologise? To who?
I think there are jealous pathetic bunch of idiots among the media and the critics (and among us) who have more sympathy for low down skunks who hurt another human being without a thought.
We have forgiven muderers and pedophiles walking among us. Why this mindless vendetta against someone against someone who has done nothing wrong against society and the law acceptable by our society standard?
For god’s sake he paid for his pleasure (not rape someone) and he is still paying.

Most of the bad talk about Tiger, seems to come from what I believe are jealous
guys who would love to be in his shoes. Not for the ability to attract the ladies, but for the ability to play the game.
Many of the guys who wrote in, seem to be bigots. Take care of your families and let Tiger do what needs to be done. Do the right thing. A fan of the best golfer in

Well I can see since yesterday’s comments on this page, the guys are still being there nasty selves . What does it take, for you guys, to leave this man alone. All of you guys would love to have had the same experiences he has had. He is now trying to repair the wrong he has done, he don’t owe anyone, anything except his wife, if they can get through this, that’s great. All you guys are doing is adding fuel to the fire, by writing, some of your comments, do you think ALIN DON’T READ THIS, YOUR NOT HELPING by bringing up other women. Try putting your self in his place, yeah think about it, what would you do. Did anybody ever think that there could have been trouble in the marriage be fore all this , possibly he needed attention else where, altho he should have waited for a time when it was right, with out reprecautions, there is always a price to pay, an TIGER has done this, now Leave him alone, so he can get back to Golf. Tiger Woods is a joke. He cheated on his wife, what else did he cheat at?
February 21st, 2010 at 12:53 pmJohnny Holmes Says:
I guess we should also make the 40 percent of married men and women who cheat on their spouses sometime during their lifetime come up to the podium and offer their spouses and families a public apology.. I’ll bet a lot fewer people who are professing to be saints would be casting stones at Tiger Woods.. There were 14 women who were willing to carry on an affair with a man they knew was married… I don’t see any of you expressing the same outrage toward them that you are showing Tiger… Why shouldn’t each of them have to make a public apology to Tiger’s family… Seems like a little double standard to me…
Do you really think Tiger Woods is the first married golfer on tour to have multiple affairs……
Tiger Woods is a great golfer and that is all he is… His sex life is his and his wife’s business…. Not your business, not the public’s business… As far as the 14 women who tangoed with him… If you are going to hold Tiger to a certain standard then hold them to the same standard

Dear CJ Goecks;
February 21st, 2010 at 4:40 pmTiger certainly has gotten himself in deep sneakers with his unfaithful behavior.
He has made a fine attempt to explain to his questioning fans, because the topics of explaination were correct, as I view them, and he has correctly placed the blame on himself. In light of his excessive desires to ignore his marriage vowes and to ignore the faith he has placed on his family, and friends as well as those who have looked up to his image time and future actions will explain his new direction. Christians learn to forgive and each of us must also learn to forgive ourselves for our past actions. Human desires are different for all of us. We all have sexual desires and are therefore in a good position to understand that a person needs to properly direct them. His wife is correct in expecting Tiger to be the man whom she can once again love and admire. The public may then look upon their family’s relationships with renewed admiration and respect.
Tiger has made a timely attempt to explain himself because he is clearly aware of the acidic and ruthless press that surrounds us all these days. It is timely because he has had to have time to reflect on his actions, future consequences and new directions to follow.
Integrity is a word that has to be learned. It is not prevalent in our society as it once had been, especially with companies whose efforts chose to make money for the share-holders; rather than for the people whom they serve. “My salary has to be better than yours ; and the product may not be better…, so let’s raise the price so people will think it fabulous!” thinking. Golf at its finest is an act demonstrating integrity.
Tiger knows this, and hopefully, for his family he will do what he can in his lifetime to be a fine example for those who wish to criticize so easily.
g tyler Says:
Ok Ok, he is only human and a heck of a golfer. But if i were Tiger, i am not saying i would not have been tempted by all the women, but when i have something at home like Elin, why would i mess with trolls, tramps and basically not the best looking women he must have encountered. Then, add in the children that will now be faced with this story on the internet for the rest of their lives and my answer would have been no. But then again, I’m not Tiger.
February 21st, 2010 at 5:04 pmken hoyles Says:
Tiger is only human like the rest of us. We all make mistakes. Hurry up tiger and get back to what you do best, play golf . The game will never be the same without you. Die-hard-fan.

I am happy that Mr. Tiger Woods has realised his mistakes and is trying to make up with his wife and family. It is not easy for him and his wife. I am sure no one suffers more that Mrs Tiger Woods and her children. We should continue to encourage them to reconcile with each other during this difficult time. I wish Tiger the very best and I am confident that Tiger will end up to be a better son, husband and father.

One of his biggest publicised Statements that I noted was that he wanted to beat Jack Nicholas’s record of 17 Major Titles. Jack was certainly a Role Model and lived up to it all the way. I don’t think Tiger deserves that “Crown” now. In order to accomplish such a feat you need the total support of your Wife, Family, closest friends, Sponsers, Business support, Media, collegues and the World Wide Audiences you are playing to. After all, these are the ones you have heart most of all.
February 21st, 2010 at 11:25 pmJames Says:
For all who refuse to give the Woods family a chance to heal their relationship and make the decisions that will have to be made for some time to come, I say this;
February 21st, 2010 at 11:36 pmHe or she who has never lied, cheated in any way or in anything, never made a mistake of any kind, have never been forgiven for what they have said or done, let them throw the first stone. As for the rest of us, we know that without forgiveness and more than one second chance we would be most pitiful and lost. God forgives all of us if we sincerely ask for His forgiveness – through His Son we have all been forgiven, can we do any less for our fellow man or woman, than what God has already done for His children?

Why do all these people get into his personel life.

Tiger has always been a self serving, narcisistic, ‘Me – only” person. That’s the way he has always treated the publ;ic – yes the very ones who pay his exhorbitant salary and the ones he finds beneath him and not worthy of his attention.
His sexual pecadillos get all the news coverage, but where are those same critics when he treats people so terribly all year long.
Some say Woods does not owe us anything – that is wrong. Anyone who gets $$$ from the public owes that same public somethng in return.
Unfortunately Woods is like a lot of talented people. God gave him a gift, so he is entitled to whatever he wants whenever he wantsit.
He said, he can’t continue to play be his own rules, yet his contrived appearance was just another example of him dooing just that.
Woods is good for PGA Tour golf winnings – but has done nothing for the game of golf or for anyone in need of help (remember his support for his Stanford teammate – Casey Martin? Oh wait, he would not get involved in that one either)

If Tiger was truly sorry, he would have talked from the heart. When you talk from the heart the words are already in your head and not on a piece of paper. It seemd to me that this was written the night before and he didn’t get much time to read it over because every time he took his eyes off the paper he would stumble. I agree I can’t wait to see him on the golf coarse although I may not see him in the same light as I saw him in before.

February 24th, 2010 at 7:18 pmlife the longer he will be away from golfing. Of course this is only speculation,
the same as how many females he was involved with. Why are we interested
in all of this information except for keeping the news going. As indicated, Tiger
appears to be more concerned about his family at this time and thats what he
will conscentrate on. Sex addition! Maybe, maybe not. It takes more than
one to have a sex affair. Why would anyone want to publicise it. You would
think that there are better news to be discussing. With everyone asking questions
that are not going to be answered by Tiger in a public forum should indicate
those answers sought may never come from Tiger himself. If the facts are
there, the answers will come eventually.

Its amazing to me that there is very little blame going towards all these women who no doubt r gold diggers or just home wreckers the whole world knows he was married so why dont we ask them which one they r home wrecker or gold digger. and for all of u that say he was a role model for the younger kids and all this bs need to get off your lazy butts and be your own kids role model but your probably the ones that use tv and video games as baby sitters. the only the Tiger or any athelete owes us is entertainment and if your using them as moral role models shame on you. As a role model for what they can acheive with hard work and some talent in a specific sport maybe. think about how many professional atheletes have no more than a high school education and you think you should be using them to teach your kid morals outstand probably the same people who elected Obama as far as sponsors dropping him thats crap to unless they r dropping him because he is not on the course accenture an investment company tiger is a good person for them if i am looking to invest money why not go to a place where the richest athelete in the world say is a good place to put your money if you have some to invest. gatorade seems to work for the best golfer in the world while on the course let me buys some for the next time i go play. the last i checked none of these companies are selling morals and if you think they r or your buying because you really checked there morals or business practices your lying to yourself. you check their performance and what they can do for you not what they really do for others and what the company really believes. All that be said good luck Tiger getting your family back if that is what you truely want and please hurry back.
